Petruccio (Marc Singer) arrives in Padua seeking a rich wife and is the answer to the prayers of a group of suitors of fair Bianca whose father refuses to let her marry until after her older sister Kate is married off.  With a great many deceptions as to who’s who, the suitors press themselves on Bianca while Petruccio proceeds to force himself on Kate, press her into marrying him and then subjecting her to starvation and sleep deprivation to make her more compliant.  What was once great comedy sounds more like something off today’s evening news.  At any rate, Singer puts in a very muscular, shirtless and energetic performance in The Amercian Conservatory Theater of San Francisco’s production of The Taming of the Shrew.

In the V miniseries aliens appear around the world in giant flying saucers telling gullible humanity that they come in peace.  Only reporter Mike Donovan (Marc Singer) figures out that they’re really here to take over, suck the planet dry and eat all our delicious gerbils.  Not as much skin  shown by Marc as in “Beastmaster” of course, but there’s some.  Also a shirtless scene from Ron Hajak.
