John Woo’s Once a Thief isn’t what you’d call sci-fi by any stretch of the imagination, but it does have Nicholas Lea (‘X-Files’ Krycek) and a secret government organization. . . so by dint of it’s action/adventure nature, and the fact that I think Ivan Sergei is cute as can be, here it is.
Mac Ramsey (Ivan Sergei) is the “adopted son” of a Hong Kong crime family. When the woman he loves is going to be given to another, he schemes to leave ending up with his girlfriend thinking he’s dead and himself in jail. Later, he’s recruited by a secret crime fighting agency and finds that she’s still alive and is the fiance of Victor Mansfield (Nicholas Lea) and they’re all employed by the same agency. Their first outing pits them against the crime syndicate they fled.
