A black monolith appears on Earth a zillion years ago and teaches the primitive monkey men how to kill. Flash forward to the far flung future of 2001 when we have big orbiting space stations, moon bases, and a ship that can take people to Jupiter. Those were the days of the future that wasn’t.
Of course, the HAL 9000 super computer gets it’s programming kinked which causes no end of problems for Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood, but not before Gary gets in some tanning bed time.

The Magic Sword (1962) has young Sir George (Gary Lockwood – Star Trek TOS; 2001: A Space Oddyssey), who is a bit of a perv spying on the princess in the magic pool belonging to his adoptive mother Sybil. When the princess is kidnapped by the evil sorceror Lodac (Basil Rathbone – yes Sherlock Holmes himself), George wants to run off to rescue her. Sybil (Estelle Winwood) thinks that’s a bad idea and trys to distract George with promises of all the gifts he’ll get next year on his twenty-first birthday. George, being a bit of a young horndog, can’t wait and traps Sybil in the basement, makes off with the magic gifts and goes to confront Lodac accompanied by another of the princess’ suitors who isn’t as scrupulous as young George since whoever gets there first gets the girl. George must battle assorted curses, coneheads, and dragons as well as fending off his rival.
