The Atreides line continues in the children of Paul Atriedes (Alec Newman) who is known as Maud’dib on the desert planet Arrakis in the sequel Children of Dune. With their mad aunt Alia (Daniela Amavia) on the throne, apparently controlled by the lingering spirit of the Atreides’ enemy, Baron Harkonnen, the children have to deal with assassination attempts and coming to terms with their own spice induced voices in their heads. Young Leto (a much shirtless James McAvoy) heads off into the desert to become one with the worms while his sister Ghanima (Jessice Brooks) contends with a marriage arranged by their mother (Alice Krige) and the mother (Susan Sarandon) of the Corrino heir (Jonathan Bruun).
